I hope your having a good summer..mines been pretty boring so far but I am traveling to Arizona with one of my good friends in a few days. We’re visiting my grandparents!

I’m hoping that I can take lots of great pictures to share with you guys on Flickr.

1. March 11, 2009

Today I did a Photoshop project. I took a grapefruit and after looking at some tutorials I made the fruit look like an ugly person. This was a really fun project for me to do.

I started working on project one: taking pictures of rules of thirds.

Still working on project one. Going well! Just tossing around different ideas of what I want to take pictures of.

Project one! Getting the cameras tomorrow!

Esther and I were talking today and we decided to take the pictures outside so that we could find more natural rule of thirds.

We got our cameras today and started taking some of the pictures; really we were just trying to get the hang of the cameras again since we haven’t used them since last semester.

7. March 31, 2009

Esther and I continued to take pictures today. The camera was being kinda ornery but we got to play around with lighting and angles, which was educational.

8. April 1, 2009

I think I’ve gotten some of the pictures that I might use in this project. But they don’t exactly feel right. I want to take more pics tomorrow so that I feel like I have the right images.

9. May 6, 2009

Today most of the advanced students myself included, presented out projects. This last project (the fifth) I worked with Garageband again messing around with different sounds and rhythms. This time I really focused on working the sounds in together to make sure that the flow was really amazing.

This week I’m starting on my sixth project, working with Photoshop. I just posted my project write-up for it on WordPress and am ready to get started!

11. May 11, 2009

I just finished my sixth project, Photoshop. I took a flower off of Flickr and changed it around. The flower is now leaning to the left, and was filtered to make it look like its made out of glass. I think it’s really pretty.

I started my seventh project today. I’m working with Flash. I’m really just goofing around and getting the hang of the program.

Today I looked at the difference between a motion transformation and a shape one. I personally like shape better than motion.

Today was just a workday and I was making different designs in the program and using the shape Tween I saw how my designs changed from scene to scene.

15. May 18, 2009

Today I finished up my first Flash creation. There are a lot of different shapes, and some text. I used all shape Tweens to go from scene to scene. And shape to shape.

Today was a nice relaxing day for once. I put the finishing touches on my Flash creation and then got caught up on my Journal Writes.

We started presentations today. I saw a lot of really cool projects that the beginning and advanced students did.

We finished the presentations today and again I saw so many cool things. I also presented my projects and I’m hoping some people thought that they were really amazing cause that’s what I think they are!

I’m gonna start working on my Final today. I’m going to use my blog on WordPress. And add some of the exponents that it’s missing.

I’m working on my Final Project, I’m really having fun looking at al the stuff that we’ve done over the semester. Photoshop, Flash, Garage Band and more. It’s been amazing to learn all this stuff this year and I am looking forward to coming back in the future years to learn more.

One thing I can honestly say was my favorite part of Viscom is being able to work independently and yes I did have to get some help from the people around me, Emily and Esther have been very helpful, and LeDuc, occasionally. But I learned what goes into my work style and what great results come from all that work.

Today, while working on my Final Project I put in the links for my resume, which is on my Linked-In account. This includes my job, as a babysitter. An my part time job at a stamping store down town.

I’m finished with my final project and am just waiting a round for the end of the year, (6 more days!) to present it.

Um..I’m looking at Flickr a lot these days because I’m done with everything. I’ve found about ten Flickr photographers that I really enjoy looking at their work and look forward to new uploads.

25. June 12, 2009

Today Esther and I are goofing around with Photo-Booth taking pictures and movies of funny faces. We’re just having a good time relaxing before our Finals next week.

Leadership Section: For my leadership, I helped the beginning students when we started working with taking pictures. I felt that that was a really good experience for me and the other students because they learned new things from me. And because I was teaching them the things I already knew I also was reminded of things that I learned last semester that I had long forgotten. So I thought that was a pretty cool thing.

For my sixth project i was working with Flash, at first I thought that Flash was really hard and i didn’t really get the tutorials, so I began working on a really simple Photoshop project. But then I felt that that wasn’t the greatest use of time, so I took a second look at Flash. And with the help of Esther and Emily I got into it and created some pretty cool scenes. You can check them out in my folder.

For my sixth project I’ll be experimenting with photoshop. On this project I’m looking forward to working with different tints and being able to manipulate pictures when I use them. I’m really excited to be doing a project through Photoshop again because I’m used to this program and I just want to find all the stuff that I missed and wasn’t able to use in my earlier projects.

For my fourth project I will be working with garage band trying to make a song. And just experimenting and playing around to see what sounds good. I don’t know if i will make an actual song but I want to learn how to improve my skills by using garage band and make some funky beats!

For my third project I`m going to look up on flickr or google a picture that has more that one meaning to it. once i find the picture that i like i will save it to my folder and write a description on why i choose that photo. next i am going to get a school camera and look around the school and try to replicate that image. except in a more outrageous and fantastic way. i will take a similar photo but yet it will look very different.

Timeline:

search up photos on flickr or google

Pick the hoto that i like best

save it and them write why i picked this picture.

get a camera and take a similar photo

upload it on the computer and open it up in photoshop to make it better.

show it to class+leduc in two weeks

Viscom Project Write-Up

For my second project I want to work on Tutorials. Showing how if you look online and find good tutorials that show you how you can do different thing with photo shop to tweak the pictures that you have. To either change them or just make them look better with what you already have.

For my tutorial I’m going to take a picture of a grape fruit and I’m going to put a face on it and make it look like a Frakenfruit.

Rule of Thirds Pictures: More In Depth

Description:

I wanted to do the project of the rule of thirds, but more in depth. So by taking pictures of interesting and thought provoking objects I would like to teach other people about the excitement of photography and how it helps us see our world.

Timeline:

Throughout the next two weeks I will take six pictures each of a different and/or interesting object that will prove the rule of thirds and show off photography.
